262. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason modified pension contributions only were applied in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39157/15]

The position is that the person mentioned was appointed in an established (permanent) capacity in August 1974. In accordance with Social Welfare legislation, from that period she was liable for the deduction of social insurance contributions from her salary at the modified rate.
