173. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection the number of persons who have failed to qualify for the State pension (contributory) due to insufficient contributions throughout their working lives, with particular reference to those who took time off to rear their families and who later took up employment in each of the past five years to date; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
