Deputy Gerry Adams asked the Minister for Finance the safeguards in place to ensure that former directors or other employees of the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation are not profiting from the sale of the corporation's mortgage and commercial loan books through ownership of, or employment in, companies that bought the mortgage and commercial loan books; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Neither I nor the Special Liquidators of IBRC are in a position to comment on the intentions or subsequent actions of third party purchasers (or the safeguards they have employed) once they have purchased loan assets from IBRC. Furthermore, I have no legal basis to place restrictions on any business or employment interests of former employees or directors of IBRC.
