Deputy Gerry Adams asked the Minister for Health the number and details for each occasion Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, County Louth, had to avail of protected call during the past four years; when these events occurred; the reason they occurred; how long each lasted; if any specifically occurred because of excessive numbers in the accident and emergency department or because of difficulties in providing ambulance cover; the protocol for patients requiring hospital admission during an episode of protected call; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
