538. Deputy Patrick O'Donovan asked the Minister for Education and Skills if she will review the circumstances of teachers being probated and if these teachers can carry their probationary period over two years; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [44071/15]
View answerUnder the Teaching Council Act the Teaching Council has statutory authority to establish procedures and criteria for probation of teachers including periods of probation. Currently, the Council allows three years for the completion of probation for registration purposes.
