Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if and when he has received an application from Mayo County Council for a specific road grant for the improvement of the road between Cross and Cong in County Mayo, and when it will be decided upon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerMayo County Council has submitted an application to my Department for funding in respect of improvement works on the R346 Cross-Cong in 2016. The application was received on 20 November and is under consideration by my Department taking into account the available capital budget for regional and local roads. The 2016 Regional and local road allocations will be announced early in the new year.
