The Garda Commissioner is responsible for the distribution of personnel, among the Garda Regions, Divisions, and Districts. Garda management keep this distribution under continuing review taking into account crime trends and policing priorities so as to ensure that the best possible use is made of these resources.
The unit referred to is known as the Serious Crime Review Team (SCRT) and is one of a number of units which form the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI).
I am informed by the Garda Commissioner that the following table outlines the number of personnel assigned to the SCRT from 2011 - 2014 and currently in 2015.
