Petroleum (Exploration and Extraction) Safety Act, 2015 |

To confer on the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) the additional functions with respect to petroleum safety required by the Offshore Safety Directive. The legislation was enacted in July, 2015 to meet the transposition deadline but cannot be commenced until the Petroleum Safety Framework has been updated by the CER to reflect the additional functions required by the Directive. It is anticipated that the Act will be commenced in its entirety in January, 2016. |
