I confirm that the department received an application for carer’s allowance (CA) from the person concerned on 2 June 2015.

The application was referred to a local social welfare inspector (SWI) on 5 August 2015 to assess the level of care being provided, assess means and confirm that all the conditions for receipt of CA are satisfied.

In order to complete his investigation the SWI has requested some documentation from the person concerned.

Once all documentation is received, the SWI will submit a report to a deciding officer who will make a decision without delay and the person concerned will be notified directly of the outcome.
