75. Deputy Noel Coonan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection when an application under the disability allowance scheme by a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary will be finalised; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1756/16]

The person concerned is in receipt of State pension (non-contributory).

I confirm that the department received an application for disability allowance from the above named person on 13 November 2015. Disability Allowance is payable to persons between the ages of 16 and 66, provided they meet all criteria.

The application for the person concerned was disallowed on 23 December 2015 as she is over the age of 66.
