340. Deputy Noel Grealish asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the number of households in counties Galway and Mayo who have paid their water charges; those who have not paid their charges, by the amount owed; the number who have availed of the water conservation grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. With effect from 1 January 2014, Irish Water is responsible for public water services. Irish Water customer billing is a matter for the utility and one in which I have no function. Irish Water has established a dedicated team to deal with representations and queries from public representatives. They may be contacted via email at oireachtasmembers@water.ie or by telephone on 1890 578 578.

The number of Water Conservation Grant applications processed for Principal Private Residences in County Galway is 42,513 and in County Mayo is 33,928.
