Garda CCTV systems are planned and implemented on the basis of the identified operational needs and priorities of An Garda Síochána. In that context I am informed by the Garda Authorities that the estimated cost for an additional 30 cameras in Dublin City Centre is approximately €500,000 including VAT. The exact costs could only be established on foot of a competitive tendering process and would depend on a range of factors.
