417. Deputy Regina Doherty asked the Minister for Health if he will amend the VAT rates on sunbed sessions and on sunscreen, given the 13.5% rate on sunbed sessions and the 23% rate on sunscreen, and given the significantly increased risk of a number of skin cancers attributable to sunbed use; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I wish to advise the Deputy that the issue of setting Value Added Tax rates is a matter for the Minister for Finance. I have no remit in this matter.
