Questions (842)

Tony McLoughlin

Question:

842. Deputy Tony McLoughlin asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to investigate with the National Transport Authority when the authority will complete its internal review into the provision of sheltered bus stops, with special regard to the need for a new build for John Street in Sligo town, which has been approved by both Sligo County Council and Bus Éireann; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The National Transport Authority (NTA) has statutory responsibility for securing or providing public transport infrastructure in relation to bus stops, bus shelters, bus stations, bus stands and bus fleets. Noting this I have referred the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
