The area concerned is identified in the Clare County Development Plan as a prime scenic area. Therefore this application was referred to Clare County Council and An Taisce for their observations. The application has now been sent to the Department’s Forestry Inspector for his recommendation. The application was advertised in the local press on 22nd April. A decision cannot issue until at least a month after the date of advertisement. The Department will be in contact with the applicant as soon as possible after the application has been considered.
