Deputy Jonathan O'Brien asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality further to Parliamentary Question No. 156 of 31 May 2016, for further details on the ongoing consideration of the governance arrangements and relationship between her Department and the Irish Prison Service; if she is considering this; if she has examined a proposal to establish the Irish Prison Service as an independent prisons authority on a statutory basis; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
