Questions (569)

Kevin O'Keeffe

Question:

569. Deputy Kevin O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if the Mallow driver test centre will remain open on a permanent basis, given that the most recent census states that County Cork has the second-highest population in the country, after County Dublin, but has only three driving test centres. The operation of the driver testing service is the statutory responsibility of the Road Safety Authority, and I have no role in the location of test centres.  I have therefore referred the question to the Authority for direct reply.  I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
