66. Deputy Jonathan O'Brien asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality if she has taken action to prevent the Equality Tribunal from investigating discrimination claims being brought against the Garda Commissioner and the status of this action. [16092/16]
View answerI have not taken any such action and there is no question of me seeking to do so. As the Workplace Relations Commission, into which the Equality Tribunal has been merged, is an independent body, it would not be appropriate for me, as Minister for Justice and Equality, to intervene in any way in relation to any matter being dealt with by that Commission.
