Deputy Marc MacSharry asked the Minister for Education and Skills to expedite a decision on an application for funding under the schools capital appraisal scheme for urgent refurbishment work in a school (details supplied) in preparation for the opening of a special class for children with autism in September 2016; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm to the Deputy that my Department recently approved a grant to the school in question to refurbish existing available accommodation to provide suitable accommodation for an ASD class for September 2016. This decision has been conveyed to the school authority.
