265. Deputy David Cullinane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the cost of reintroducing public sector allowances for public sector workers in his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17680/16]
View answerRates of Public Sector allowances and policies regarding their application are generally agreed centrally by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (DPER) or on a case by case basis between my Department and the DPER. My Department will be guided by DPER in these matters. It is not possible at this time to assess the costs that may be associated with any potential changes to allowances.
