292. Deputy Kevin O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if, in view of the reluctance of the Government to commit to the overall construction of the M20 Cork-Limerick motorway immediately, if he will grant capital programme status to the section of this route which will incorporate the Mallow relief road, with a view to it being fast-tracked. Provision has been made for the Mallow bypass in the Capital Plan. This scheme is one of a number of schemes, targeted at removing bottlenecks and upgrading port access, that have been included in the Plan, subject to necessary approvals.
