Questions (446)

Clare Daly

Question:

446. Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that women can wait for four months for an appointment for a breast magnetic resonance imaging scan in the Mater Hospital in Dublin 7 and subsequently have to wait for the results to be interpreted over a period of six weeks or more, as consultants only examine these results on Mondays and Wednesdays, causing extreme stress for the women involved; his views on same; and his plans to rectify this matter. As this is a service matter, I have asked the HSE to respond to the Deputy directly. If she has not received a reply from the HSE within 15 working days please contact my Private Office and my officials will follow the matter up.
