The recent Report of the Independent Review Group on the operations of An Bord Pleanála, which was commissioned by my predecessor and published in March 2016, contains a number of recommendations relating to the arrangements for the appointment of Board members, which would require legislative underpinning. These recommendations are under consideration by my Department.
