692. Deputy Niamh Smyth asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs the number of staff employed in her Department's archive unit in each of the years 2010 to 2016, to date, in tabular form; her plans to expand this number; if there are protocol changes arising from changes to the National Archives Acts; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department does not have a dedicated Archive Unit. The Support Services Unit in my Department has overall responsibility for file management as part of its workload, while each Unit in my Department has responsibility for the day to day management of its local files.
