Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the number of positions on the boards of bodies and agencies under the aegis of his Department; the number of vacant positions; when each vacancy occurred; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The following table contains the information requested in respect of the agencies under the aegis of my Department.

Appointments to An Bord Pleanála, the Environmental Protection Agency, Gas Networks Ireland and to the Board of Irish Water are of a full-time executive nature and are governed by statutory processes.

* There is no minimum or maximum number of members on the Board of Pobal. Article 2 of the Memorandum and Articles of Association states that "The number of members with which the Company is to be registered is 16." It further states "The company may from time to time register a further increase in the numbers". The maximum and minimum number is therefore given in the above table as 16 members.

**While no vacant positions have arisen on the Pyrite Resolution Board, the Minister is proposing to appoint an additional member to enhance the Board’s decision making and oversight functions in the context of the implementation of the pyrite remediation scheme.  The appointment process has been undertaken in accordance with the State Boards process and it is intended to make the appointment shortly.
