Deputy Timmy Dooley asked the Minister for Health the reason the HSE has failed to cover the cost of Midon, a drug recommended by consultant neurologists in the treatment of Parkinson's disease for inclusion under the long-term illness scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the HSE has statutory responsibility for decisions on pricing and reimbursement of medicinal products under the community drug schemes, I have asked the HSE to respond directly to the Deputy on this issue.
