Imelda Munster

Question:

84. Deputy Imelda Munster asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the plans his Department and the National Transport Authority have to deal with the increasing numbers of rail passengers, increasing from 36.74 million in 2013 to 39.66 million in 2015 according to the NTA, given that many routes are very overcrowded, particularly at rush hour, including on the Dundalk to Dublin route; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issue raised is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
