Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason for the delay in appointing a director to the Agriculture Appeals Office; when a director will be appointed to this office; the number of appeals currently awaiting processing pending this appointment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A new Director of Agriculture Appeals was appointed on 3 May 2016 following a competitive process organised by the Public Appointments Service in line with the provisions of the Agriculture Appeals Act.
