645. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government the projects his Department is prioritising in budget 2017; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26140/16]
View answerThe Programme for Partnership Government prioritised the housing challenge as a key objective for the Government. The publication in July of Rebuilding Ireland, an Action Plan for Housing and Homelessness reflects the priority being afforded to housing. The Plan provides for €5.35 billion funding over the period of the Plan to support the delivery of 47,000 units of social housing by the end of 2021. Implementation of the actions set out in Rebuilding Ireland will be a key priority for my Department in Budget 2017. The detailed provisions of my Department’s Vote for next year are currently under consideration in the context of work leading to Budget 2017.
