I propose to take Questions Nos. 848 and 859 together.

It is my Department’s policy not to disclose details in individual consular cases, due to the requirement to protect the confidentiality and privacy of the relevant citizens.

However, I would like to reassure the Deputies that my Department’s officials are engaged on the case he mentions.

The person concerned is a citizen of Iran, which does not recognise dual nationality or permit consular assistance to Iranian nationals holding citizenship of a foreign State. Nevertheless, within these limited constraints, my Department has raised our concerns about this case with the authorities of Iran.
