79. Deputy Catherine Connolly asked the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government the reason the foreshore lease extension of one year has been granted to the Marine Institute for the Galway Bay test site without environmental impact assessments having been conducted for this lease extension, as required under national and EU legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the one year lease term extension did not require further works or alterations to the physical aspect of the site a further environmental impact assessment of the consented facility was not required.
