315. Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice asked the Minister for Social Protection when a decision will be made on an application for a disability allowance payment by a person (details supplied). [31643/16]
View answerThe application for disability allowance, based upon the evidence submitted, was refused on medical grounds and this lady was notified in writing of the decision on 29 July 2016. This lady requested a review of the decision by a deciding officer (DO) and submitted additional evidence for consideration.
The review has now been concluded by a DO and the outcome is that the decision to refuse on medical grounds has been confirmed. This lady is being notified directly of this decision and she will also be advised of her right to appeal this decision to the independent social welfare appeals office.
I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
