Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform when a decision will be made in respect of an application for coastal defences (details supplied) in County Donegal made by the local authority to the Office of Public Works; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The application received from Donegal County Council under the Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme for funding to undertake a project comprising of coastal erosion defence repairs at Maghery, County Donegal has been assessed by the Office of Public Works and is not eligible for funding under the scheme as it does not meet the scheme criteria.
