Currently, the House of the Oireachtas and the National Museum of Ireland are in discussions regarding the proposed temporary use of the Ceramics Room for the relocation of Seanad Éireann while works are being undertaken at Historic Leinster House. Once these discussions have concluded and the final arrangements are confirmed, the process for the relocation of the Seanad Chamber from its current location in Historic Leinster House will commence, this process taking full cognisance of any and all obligations of prevailing planning legislation.

As the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government has no function in the determination or management of the accommodation requirements of the Houses of the Oireachtas or of the National Museum of Ireland, it would not be appropriate for him to comment on the matter.
