In line with the requirements of the Public Service Management Act, 1997 the Department has drafted a new Statement of Strategy (SOS) for the three year period 2016 – 2019, which will issue shortly. One of the objectives of this SOS is to “Continue to develop a highly skilled, diverse and gender balanced work force” with implementation of the Department’s HR Strategy listed as a KPI for the achievement of this objective. The Department’s HR Strategy lists the putting in place of Disability Awareness Policy/Guidelines as a policy priority over its lifetime of this Strategy.
