588. Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Health the services that will be provided in the proposed Tallaght urgent care centre, UCC; the number and type of beds available for children in Tallaght UCC; the types of illness that fall into the category of urgent as opposed to emergency; the proposed opening hours of the facility; the time at which all children that require overnight care will have to be transferred to the children's hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The urgent care centres to be developed on the campuses of Tallaght Hospital and Connolly Hospital are an integral part of the new children's hospital. The children's hospital to be located on the campus of St James's will provide tertiary or more complex care for children from all over the country, and secondary or less complex care for children from the Greater Dublin Area, while the two satellite centres will improve access to urgent care and outpatient services, including rapid access general paediatric clinics and GP access to diagnostics for children locally.
