293. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Social Protection if debt can be deferred in the case of a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39544/16]

Minister of State at the Department of Social Protection

My department is in contact with the person concerned with proposals for the recovery of the debt. The debt recovery officer is still awaiting a response to the recovery proposal sent to the person concerned on 16 November 2016.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
