Deputy Marc MacSharry asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform if his attention has been drawn to the fact that on arrest, prisoners in County Sligo must be taken to the south County Sligo Garda station of Ballymote as the prisoner facilities in Sligo town have been condemned. I am advised by the Commissioners of Public Works that matters relating to custody in Garda Stations is an operational matter and should be referred to the Department of Justice and Equality and An Garda Síochána.
