Broughan asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he has liaised with his colleague, the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality, in respect of the seemingly serious inconsistencies in District Court decisions on speeding offences; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I appreciate the Deputy's concerns and share them. Therefore, I intend to engage with my colleague, the Tanaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality to assess how best, as legislators, the government may assess the consistency and effectiveness of sentencing regarding road traffic offences.
