227. Deputy Denise Mitchell asked the Minister for Social Protection the number of transfers in personnel between the social welfare appeals office and the rest of his Department or any other applicable Department each year from 2008 to 2016. [40556/16]
View answerTransfers are carried out in accordance with agreements reached with staff unions. The majority of transfers into and out of the Social Welfare Appeals Office during the period under review involved the movement of existing departmental staff. A number of personnel were redeployed into the Appeals Office when particular units of work were relocated outside Dublin under decentralisation. Staff also redeployed from other Departments in the context of Employment Control Framework targets set by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform.
The table below details the number of staff who transferred into and out of the Social Welfare Appeals Office in the period from 2008 to date.
