Deputy Jonathan O'Brien asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality if her attention has been drawn to the fact that there are a number of Syrian refugees living in Derry; if these persons are entitled to seek employment there; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Non-EEA nationals require an appropriate permission in order to work in Ireland. The Government's policy in this area is a matter for the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, whose Department administers the Employment Permits system.
