I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the yield from Stamp Duty on debit cards, ATM cards, combined ATM/debit cards, credit cards and charge cards for the years in question is as shown in following table.

The Stamp Duty levy on debit cards and ATM cards is under Section 123B of the Stamp Duties Consolidation Act 1999. The levy is payable by the financial institution, but the legislation provides that it may be passed on to the cardholder.
