Deputy David Cullinane asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the status of the Office of Public Works plans to relocate Seanad Éireann to the National Museum; the consultations his Department has undertaken; the consultations his Department intends to undertake; the point at which the planning application is; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Following extensive consultation with and agreement between the National Museum of Ireland and the Houses of the Oireachtas, my Office is now undertaking the detailed planning of those works necessary to facilitate the temporary relocation of Seanad Éireann to two rooms on the First Floor of the National Museum together with the preparation of the required Statutory Planning documentation.
