Deputy Catherine Martin asked the Minister for Education and Skills if his attention has been drawn to the fact that while the Irish language exemption on the basis of a learning difficulty is recognised as part of the leaving certificate applied programme year 1, the foreign language exemption on the basis of a learning difficulty is not recognised as part of leaving certificate applied programme year 2; the reason this is the case; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
