289. Deputy Fiona O'Loughlin asked the Minister for Social Protection if he will review the case of a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2641/17]
View answerThe person in question was in receipt of another social welfare payment, or an increase was paid to another for his benefit, during the period 13 January 2016 to 13 December 2016. Consequently, the amount of social welfare already paid required calculation and was deducted from any arrears due. This process was completed by my department as quickly as possible. Disability allowance arrears issued to the person in question on 19 January 2017.
I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
