View answerFollowing a comprehensive review of expenditure carried out in 2011, the strength ceiling of the Permanent Defence Force was established at 9,500 personnel and, as a result, a major re-organisation of the Defence Forces took place. As part of the re-organisation, 1 Brigade Artillery Regiment (BAR), Collins Barracks, was established in 2013 and I can confirm that there are no plans to disestablish this unit.
