Deputy Charlie McConalogue asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport further to Parliamentary Question No. 1801 of 16 September 2016, the progress made to date in connection with the conversion of Irish driver licences in British Columbia, Canada; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As I explained in the response to which the Deputy refers, negotiations on arrangements for exchange of driving licences are handled on behalf of the State by the Road Safety Authority (RSA).

I understand from the RSA that an agreement with British Columbia is very close to being finalised.  However, it is not possible at this point to give a definite date as to when this will be done.
