Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade if he or any Minister of State under his Department uses a personal e-mail account for work purposes; the security controls in place regarding the use of personal e-mail accounts for Department-related business; if his Department has a policy on this matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Neither I nor any Minister of State under this Department uses a personal email account for official department business.

Access to such web-based email services is blocked from this Department’s ICT infrastructure. It is the Department’s policy that web-based email is not used for official business.
