Deputy John Brassil asked the Minister for Education and Skills the progress that has been made on the acquisition of a suitable location for the shared payroll service centre for the education training boards in Dublin; the cost of acquiring a suitable location; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has identified a suitable location and the Office of Public Works (OPW) is currently in negotiations to secure the lease. As the lease is currently under negotiation the deputy will understand that it would not be appropriate for me to comment at this stage on the cost of acquiring the location.
