Question:

1191. Deputy Kevin O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport further to Parliamentary Question No. 308 of 1 March 2017, the conditions under which a business case for a preclearance facility at Cork Airport would become a realistic possibility. [13161/17]

The recently announced new routes to the US from Cork Airport are at a very early stage and need some time to bed down before there will be clarity on passenger demand for these routes and their performance. In line with normal practice, any business case would entail an assessment of the likely benefits of preclearance at Cork Airport in comparison to the costs of introducing such a facility. This would be a matter for the daa in the first instance.

Question No. 1192 answered with Question No. 1172.
